Mad Hatter Day
Every October 6th or 10/6 is Mad Hatter Day! Yes, every October 6th is a day to celebrate Alice in Wonderland's Mad Hatter and hats of all kinds! Why, 10/6? Because the Mad Hatter wore a giant top hat with a little sign on it. A sign that said "10/6". What did this mean? Well it means that the hat was for sale and the price was ten shillings and six pence.
How can you celebrate Mad Hatter's Day? Well you can wear a cool hat, and maybe visit one of the following places! We have the remains of the Brown Derby, sadly sorta uncermoniously dumped on top of a shopping center in Los Angeles. We have Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen's sculpture in Salinas depicting three different hats in three different stages of landing. Or you could shop for electronics at Woodland Hills's Alice in Wonderland themed electronic store.
Happy Mad Hatter's Day!
